Today I am sharing a card that I made for the current SugarPea Designs Mix It Up Challenge #59 using a brand new SugarPea Designs stamp and die set (that I happened to illustrate) called Nordic Village.
This is an EXCLUSIVE whilte-stocks-last set released in collaboration with Simon Says Stamp for their Stamptember celebration. The stamp set and the stamp and die set bundle is available to purchase exclusively from Simon Says Stamp while stocks last!
For my card, I started by die cutting a 4.25x5.5" stitched panel from grey card using the largest die from the Card Front Element Builder die set. I then used some clear embossing paste with the Falling Snowflake Stencil to add some detail to the panel. (Before the paste was dry, I sprinkled it with very fine glitter). Once the panel was dry, I fixed it to a 4.5x5.75" navy card base.
I stamped one of the houses and the little bird using pink ink, a tree using green ink, and 2 houses and a second tree using navy ink, then added some additional colour to the houses using navy, green and pink Copic markers. I also stamped 4 of the tiny strings of beads in navy ink, then cut everything out using the coordinating die set.
The houses were fixed to the top of a panel of white card using foam pads for dimension, and the trees were glued in between (I couldn't use foam pads as they would have been too unstable). I glued the strings behind the houses and trees to connect them, added foam pads behind everything and popped the finished village onto the front of my card. To finish, I added the tiny pink bird to the top of the navy tree. I stamped one of the sentiments from the set in Versamark ink onto a strip of navy card, heat embossed it in white, then added it below the scene using foam pads.
