STAMPtember 2018: SugarPea Designs Cuddly Cacti

SugarPea Designs is so pleased to be sharing in the excitement of STAMPtember with our friends at  Simon Says Stamp!

Today we’re thrilled to share with you a stamp set created exclusively for this event and only available while supplies last, called Cuddly Cacti. There is also a coordinating die set and you can purchase them as a bundle or separately!

Fir my card, I started by cutting out a 4.25x5.5" white stitched rectangle using the largest die from the Card Front Element Builder die set, then inked it with some Cracked Pistachio distress ink.  I added two 0.5" strips of green spotty paper from the Spots & Stripes Pastels paper pad along the left and right edges of a 4.75x5.5" card base, then fixed the inked stitched rectangle to the centre.

I stamped the pots from the Cuddly Cacti stamp set onto 3 different patterned papers from the Sugar & Spice and Spots & Stripes Pastels paper pads, then cut them out.  I then stamped the cacti images from the Cuddly Cacti stamp set, coloured them with various green and pink Copic markers, and fussy cut them out (leaving extra card below the bottom of the images so that I could glue them to the reverse of the pots - this made it a lot easier to pop them up on foam pads).   I temporarily taped the cacti images into place using washi tape so that I could work out where I wanted my sentiment to be.  Once my sentiment was stamped, I added the cacti images using foam pads, and the card was done!

SugarPea August 2018 release: RELEASE DAY

Today we are showcasing the beautiful Eucalyptus Wreath stamp set, along with Grateful Greetings and the coordinating Grateful word die.   I love that the artwork of the Eucalyptus Wreath stamp set includes shading, so you don't even have to colour the image if you don't want to!  I heat embossed the wreath using some WOW glittery gold EP on the first card, and simply stamped the individual stems with black ink on the second card - super quick and easy!

SugarPea Designs August 2018 Release: Day 4

Hi everyone and welcome to the fourth day of the SugarPea Designs August 2018 release sweet peeks!

We hope you’ll join us this week as we share Sweet Peeks for our NEWEST products, available to purchase in the SPD Store from this Friday, August 24th at 6PM EST.

Today we are sneak peeking the Birthday Balloons stamp set and it's coordinating die.  I started by stamping the 3 patterned balloons in Versamark ink onto some white card, then heat embossed them using clear embossing powder.  Since the balloon die cuts right to the edge of the stamped images, I made a template to help me line it up perfectly.  I cut it out of some scrap card, discarding the die cut balloon and keeping the negative.  I then placed the aperture over the stamped balloon, taped it into place, placed the die back into the aperture (and taped that into place so nothing moved), and then ran run it through my die cutting machine for a perfect cut.  I used Mermaid Lagoon and Twisted Citron distress inks to colour my die cut balloons.  The "Happy Birthday" sentiment is from Tuesday's Seeing Stars stamp set, and the tiny stars were die cut using the Hocus Pocus die set (sneak peeked yesterday).

SugarPea Designs August 2018 Release: Day 3

Hi everyone and welcome to the third day of the SugarPea Designs August 2018 release sweet peeks!

We hope you’ll join us this week as we share Sweet Peeks for our NEWEST products, available to purchase in the SPD Store from this Friday, August 24th at 6PM EST.

Today we are sneak peeking the Bewitched and Hocus Pocus stamp sets (along with their coordinating die sets), and the Hocus Pocus standalone die set.   I wanted to make a "Wicked" themed card for my project today so focused on the Hocus Pocus die set.  I used Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn distress inks to create an ink smooshed background.  The sentiment is from the new Bewitched stamp set, and the teeny tiny bats were die cut using the previously released Spookyscape die set.  I die cut the buckle for the witch's hat using some lime glitter paper and also used a strip of paper from the Spots & Stripes Brights paper pad at the bottom of the card.

SugarPea Designs August 2018 Release: Day 2

Hi everyone and welcome to the second day of the SugarPea Designs August 2018 release sweet peeks!

We hope you’ll join us this week as we share Sweet Peeks for our NEWEST products, available to purchase in the SPD Store from this Friday, August 24th at 6PM EST.

Today we are sneak peeking the Seeing Stars stamp set and the Stacked Stars die set.   I stamped the 3 different patterned star stamps from the stamp set onto coloured card, and then heat embossed them in white.  I then used various dies from the die set to cut out a rainbow of plain and patterned stars.  I added Star Dust stickles to the plain stars for a little sparkle.

SugarPea Designs August 2018 Release: Day 1

Hi everyone and welcome to the first day of the SugarPea Designs August 2018 release sweet peeks!

We hope you’ll join us over the next 5 days as we share Sweet Peeks for our NEWEST products, available to purchase in the SPD Store from this Friday, August 24th at 6PM EST.

For my card, I created a galaxy background by first blending Chipped Sapphire, Dusty Concord and Black Soot distress inks onto my panel of white card.  I then flicked drops of water as well as flicks of Chipped Sapphire ink, drying in between with a heat tool, before adding some flicks of Picket Fence distress paint.  Once everything was dry, I die cut the trail of stars using the new Star Dust die (such an awesome die!).  I popped the panel onto my card base using foam pads for dimension.  The sun and moon image from the new To The Moon & Back stamp set was coloured using Copics and highlighted with some Stickles, a heat embossed sentiment was added and it was done!

SugarPea Designs: Sweet 2 Repeat blog hop

Welcome to the SugarPea Designs Sweet 2 Repeat Blog Hop! It’s time again for our Sweet2Repeat Blog Hop! Now that so many of you have our latest release in your hot little hands, our Pod Squad of designers have geared up to inspire you with even MORE creative possibilities featuring our newest and hottest products!

For my card, I decided to use one of the stamp and die sets I had the privilege of illustrating/designing for this release.  I stamped a couple of the succulents/cacti from Stuck On You  onto a stitched rectangle cut using one of the dies from the SugarCut - Birthday Journal Card set.  I then stamped one of the pots and a third plant, cut them out using the coordinating SugarCut - Stuck on You die set and popped them up with foam pads for dimension.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.  The background was created by die cutting the SugarCut - Geometric Floral Cover Plate in white and then fixing it to a 4.25x5.5" panel of white cardstock - such a pretty effect.
