SugarPea Designs Carnival Release: Day 5

Hi everyone and welcome to the last day of the SugarPea Designs February 2017 release sweet peeks!

For our final day, we are showcasing more projects using the new goodies that will be available to purchase TONIGHT from 6pm EST in the SPD store.

For today's card, I decided to use one of the dies I designed for this release that we sneak peeked on Wednesday: SugarCut - Starburst Cover Plate.



I cut out a SugarCut - Starburst Cover Plate in white cardstock and fixed it to the front of my card base.  I then cut out 2 more, in yellow and turquoise cardstock, and inset the pieces, as shown.  One of the circles from the SugarCut - Zig Zag Stitched Circles is the exact same size as the central circle  of the cover plate, so I cut one of those out from yellow cardstock and added it.  Finally, a SugarCut - Celebrate word, a stamped sentiment from the Celebrate All the Things stamp set, some black stars cut using the SugarCut - Scattered Stars Journal Card and a few sparkling clear sequins, and it was done!

SugarPea Designs Carnival Release: Day 4

Hi everyone and welcome to the fourth day of the SugarPea Designs February 2017 release sweet peeks!  I hope you are enjoying the products so far?

Today we are showcasing the oh-so-cute What's Poppin' stamp set and its coordinating die, together with another of the die sets I desgiend for this release - SugarCut - Popcorn Treat box, as well as the stamp I designed - Striped Background (which is also this release's Sweet Incentive product).

For my first project, I used the SugarCut - Popcorn Treat box.  This is one of my favourite ever die sets that I have designed - it is SO fun to use!


I stamped the sides of the red striped box with the *NEW* Striped Background stamp, and covered the other 2 boxes with papers from the  *NEW* Life is a Carnival paper pad.





 


The SugarCut - Popcorn Treat box die set also includes a stitched circle and oval die, as well as 2 word dies - Pop Corn and Treats.  But that's not all, there are 2 sized hearts and a star die, plus 5 cute popcorn shaped dies included in the set!

 

It's super easy to create the box.  All you need to do is cut out 2 of the main shape, apply adhesive to the long tabs, and stick them together.  I designed the bottom of the box so that it can be closed by simply slipping the flaps together - no gluing required - and it can be folded flat for storage!





For my second project, I made a card using the adorable What's Poppin' stamp set and its coordinating die. I used strips of paper from the *NEW* Life is a Carnival paper pad, together with some cute popcorn pieces die cut using the *NEW* SugarCut - Popcorn Treat Box die set.

SugarPea Designs Carnival Release: Day 3

Hi everyone and welcome to the third day of the SugarPea Designs February 2017 release sweet peeks!

Today we are showcasing the fabulous Stay Strong stamp set and coordinating die, together with another of the dies I illustrated for this release - Starburst Cover Plate.



For my card, I stamped and coloured the strongman from the Stay Strong stamp set (I love this guy!), and cut him out using the coordinating die set.  I then stamped one of the sentiments at the bottom of one of the pieces of paper from the *NEW* Life is a Carnival paper pad, glued it onto the front of my card base (no trimming needed as it's already cut to size!), and popped him on using some foam pads.  Easy peasy as the card front has already been designed for you!

SugarPea Designs Carnival Release: Day 2

Hi everyone and welcome to the second day of the SugarPea Designs February 2017 release sweet peeks!

Today we are showcasing the adorable Chunky Monkey stamp set and coordinating Chunky Monkey die set.


Aren't these little chunky monkeys the cutest?  The circle was masked and inked using Scattered Straw distress ink, and I added a strip of yellow/white striped paper from the *NEW* Life is a Carnival paper pad to the right side of the card front.

SugarPea Designs Carnival Release: Day 1

Hi everyone and welcome to the first day of the SugarPea Designs February 2017 release sweet peeks!

We hope you’ll join us over the next 5 days as we share Sweet Peeks for our NEWEST products that will be available for purchase from this Friday, February 17th at 6PM EST in the SPD Store.

Today we are showcasing the StoryBook Circus stamps and coordinating dies, together with a couple of products that I had the pleasure of illustrating for this release - our brand new Life is a Carnival paper pad and the latest addition to our scenic 'scape' dies, CarnivalScape.




For my first card, I cut out three circles from a 4.25x5.5" piece of Bazzill Coconut Swirl cardstock using my Zig Zag Stitched Circles die set.  I used the *NEW* CarnivalScape die to cut out a CarnivalScape from green, white, black, yellow, red and turquoise card, then snipped and pieced them together to create little scenes.  I glued the scenes to pieces of white cardstock inked with Tumbled Glass distress ink, then temporarily fixed them behind the circular apertures using washi tape.  I applied wet glue to the backs of the scenes and then pressed the piece of card onto the front of a card base.  Once it was stuck down, I removed the washi tape and the circular aperture panel, stamped the sentiment from Storybook Circus in the bottom right corner, and then fixed the panel back onto the card front using foam.  A few balloons die cut using the CarnivalScape die and some small Doodlebug Sprinkles on the Ferris Wheel, and it was done! 



For my second card, I cut out three CarnivalScapes from red, white and black card, and simply mounted them onto a turquoise card base.  The sentiment is from the Storybook Circus stamp set  and was heat embossed in white.

FYI - As with all the SPD 'scape' dies I have illustrated to date, I designed the CarnivalScape die so that each end of the die matches up.  This allows you to cut a continuous but different orientation of the scene, which I did for the white layer of the above card.
