STAMPtember: SugarPea Designs Koalaty Time

SugarPea Designs is excited to be participating in this year's Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember event with an exclusively designed stamp set, and today the SPD DT are showcasing projects made with this adorable set!

For my card,  I cut a stitched panel from white cardstock for the front of my card using the largest die from the SugarPea Designs: Stitched Zig Zag Rectangles die set.  I then die cut 4 circles from the panel, inked some slightly larger circles of cardstock using distress inks (Dried marigold, Scattered straw, Cracked pistachio, Shaded lilac), and placed the inked discs  behind the apertures.  I popped the white die-cut panel up with some foam tape and then added the oh-so-cute koalas (coloured using Copic markers) to the circles, again using some foam tape for dimension.  The teeny tiny koala at the very top of the card is part of a larger stamp.  I didn't do anything fancy - I simply stamped the entire image and then cut around the baby koala , ensuring that I didn't leave any white border at either side of his arms.  Of course, you could selectively stamp the image, but it really wasn't necessary and I do like to take path of least resistance, haha!

SugarPea Fall 2017 release: RELEASE DAY - Knit Wit

Hi everyone and welcome to SugarPea Designs Fall 2017 RELEASE DAY!

Today we are showcasing the super sweet *NEW* Knit Wit stamp set and coordinating die set SugarCut: Knit Wit:

For my card, I used the purple polka dot and striped papers from the *NEW* Spots & Stripes - Pastels paper pad, together with the largest banner die from the previously-released SugarCut: Stitched Flags die set.  I stamped the knitted heart from Knit Wit and simply coloured it with Copics, then stamped a coordinating sentiment from the same set underneath.  A super simple, but hopefully sweet, card!

SugarPea Fall 2017 release: Day 4 - YOU

Hi everyone and welcome to the second day of the SugarPea Designs Fall 2017 release sweet peeks!

Today we are showcasing 2 of the products I designed for this release - SugarCut: YOU word die and Sweet Sentiments - You, together with a Mandala stamp (designed by Chaitlai).

For my first card, I only used stamps from the *NEW* Sweet Sentiments - You stamp set.  I stamped the largest YOU in a rainbow of colours at 2cm intervals using my MISTI.  The sentiment was heat embossed in white onto black card and added to the centre of the card using foam pads.  Finally, I added some stamped stars.

For my second card, I used the *NEW* SugarCut: Arrow Cover Plate die to create a white on white background and added a strip of paper from the *NEW* Spots & Stripes - Brights paper pad,  I die cut 3 SugarCut: YOU word from black card and glued them together for a bit of dimension, and then heat embossed a sentiment from Sweet Sentiments - You in white onto black card, again popping it up with some foam pads.  The black stars are die cut this time using the previously released SugarCut: Scattered Stars Journal Card.

For my final card, I used the Mandala stamp and coloured it using Copic markers.  The sentiment was built using the Sweet Sentiments - You stamp set, and then I simply added a few sparkling clear sequins to finish.

SugarPea Fall 2017 release: Day 3 - Spookyscape

Hi everyone and welcome to the second day of the SugarPea Designs Fall 2017 release sweet peeks!

Today we are showcasing the new Monster Mash stamp set and its coordinating die set, together with another of the products that I had the pleasure of designing for this release - the newest addition to the "scape dies - SugarCut: Spookyscape.

For my first card, I cut a 137x105mm piece of white card (it was originally 5.5x4.25", but I didn't mask the moon properly, so had to cut it down a bit, lol!).   I added a die cut circle of masking paper and inked the purple sky, and then removed the circular mask used the waste of the masking paper to cover the purple inked part and inked the moon with some Scattered Straw distress ink.  I flicked some water with a paintbrush for some interest.  The Spookyscape was die cut from black cardstock and a sentiment from the Monster Mash stamp set was heat embossed in white.  Before fixing the spookyscape to the card front, I added some scraps of card that I've sponged with Wild Honey distress ink behind the haunted house and the pumpkin.

 

For my second card, I used the largest rectangle from SugarCut: Zig Zag Stitched Rectangles to cut out a 4.25x5.5" stitched black panel for the front of my card.  I then trimmed 4 rectangles of white card, inked them with distress inks, and added some flicks of water.  I simply fixed them to the card front and heat embossed a couple of sentiments from Monster Mash in the centre.  To finish, I stamped and coloured 4 of the characters from Monster Mash, cut them out using the coordinating SugarCut: Monster Mash die set and popped them onto each inked panel using foam pads for dimension.

SugarPea Fall 2017 Release: Day 2 - Made With Love

Hi everyone and welcome to the second day of the SugarPea Designs Fall 2017 release sweet peeks!

Today we are showcasing  the oh-so-cute Made With Love stamp set and its coordinating SugarCut: WIth Love Tag.

For my card, I die cut a tag using the SugarCut: WIth Love Tag die set, and then stamped the "handmade", "just for you" and "along with a few tears ..." (love this sentiment!) in black.  I added a die cut heart and die cut leaves cut using the same die set.  The tag was mounted onto a panel of pink spotty paper from the *NEW* Spots & Stripes - Pastels paper pad.

SugarPea Fall 2017 Release: Day 1 - Indian Summer

Hi everyone and welcome to the first day of the SugarPea Designs Fall 2017 release sweet peeks!

We hope you’ll join us over the next 5 days as we share Sweet Peeks for our NEWEST products, available to purchase in the SPD Store from this Friday, August 25th at 6PM EST.

Today we are kicking off the release with the Indian Summer stamp set and its coordinating die set, together with the SugarCut - Arrow Cover Plate.  We are also adding 2 *NEW* paper pads that I had the pleasure of designing.  These are the first in our "basics" series: Spots & Stripes - Brights and Spots & Stripes - Pastels.

For my card, I used the adorable Indian Summer stamp set and its coordinating die set.  The sentiment is from a *NEW* set we are officially sneak peeking on Thursday, and I also use the previously released SugarCut: Zig Zag Stitched Rectangles to create my stitched frame:
