SugarPea Designs August 2016 release: Day 5

Hi everyone and welcome to the final day of the SugarPea Designs August Release!

Today we are sneak peeking the darling Sweet Treats - Halloween stamp set, illustrated by ME!  Even though they are small, I had a lot of fun illustrating these halloween images and putting together the teeny, tiny sentiments!

For my first project, I made a card following this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #187.  I was totally inspired by Hannelie's fabulous CTS DT card where she has black images on coloured discs!

The halloween images and sentiments are from today's *NEW* Sweet Treats - Halloween stamp set.  Once I'd stamped the images onto coloured card (FYI I heat embossed the spider's web), I cut them out using the smallest circular die from the SugarCuts - Layered Treat Label die set.  I glued the discs to my card front, which I'd covered with a piece of white card cut using the largest die from the SugarCuts - Zig Zag Stitched Rectangles die set.  I then added the pierced die-cut detail around 3 of the discs using the largest pierced circle die from the SugarCuts - Layered Treat Label die set. A few sparkling clear sequins, and it was done!

For my second project, I created some lollipop covers.  I used the largest bookmark die from SugarCuts - Brainy Bookmarks die set to cut out the bases from orange and black cardstock.  Once I'd cut the bookmark out, I turned it 180 degrees and inserted it back into the die so that I could cut the fancy end out of the plain, rectangular end.  This way I had 2 matching ends.  I then scored them to create the covers, and decorated them using the Sweet Treats - Halloween stamp set, Layered Treat Labels stamp set and SugarCuts - Layered Treat Label die set.

All new products will be available for purchase from this Friday, August 26th (that's TODAY!!) at 6PM EST in the SPD Store.

SugarPea Designs August 2016 Release: Day 4

Hi everyone and welcome to Day 4 of the SugarPea Designs August Release!

Today we are sneak peeking the darling Fangtastic stamp set.

I started by adding some die-cut stitching along the left and right edges of a 4x5.5" piece of Bazzill Blackberry Swirl cardstock.  I then added some white pigment ink to create the halo of the moon.  To create the moon, I inked a white die cut circle with Spice Marmalade distress ink and added some drops of water.

I used my MISTI to stamp the sentiment.  I positioned the black card into the corner of my MISTI, laid the inked moon in place, and then positioned the sentiment where I wanted it, which I then picked up with the MISTI lid.  I then removed the moon, stamped the sentiment in Versamark ink onto the black card, and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  I placed the heat embossed piece of black card back into the corner of the MISTI and secured the inked moon in place with the magnets.  I slipped a piece of scrap paper under the moon so that it covered the sentiment that I'd already heat embossed onto the black card, and then stamped the sentiment a second time with Versamark ink so that the sentiment only stamped onto the moon.  Once this sentiment had been heat embossed, I glued the moon to the black card, lining up the 2 embossed sentiments.  (Using this technique enabled me to have a seamless sentiment, which wouldn't have been possible if I'd simply stamped the sentiment onto the card front once the moon was attached to the black background, since the 2 levels of cardstock would have created an uninked part where they met.)

I opted to stamp the adorable bat from the Fangtastic stamp set onto black card and heat emboss it rather than colour it.  My other bats were die cut using the previously released SugarCuts - Autumn Icons die set.

All new products will be available for purchase from this Friday, August 26th at 6PM EST in the SPD Store.

SugarPea Designs August 2016 Release: Day 3

Hi everyone and welcome to Day 3 of the SugarPea Designs August Release!

Today we are sneak peeking Fall Fox stamp set along with it's coordinating SugarCuts - Fall Fox die set, plus the new SugarCuts - Harlequin Cover Plate die.

Supplies
Memento ink: Tangelo, Rose Bud, New Sprout
Bazzill cardstock: Coconut Swirl, Blackberry Swirl

My first card uses the new Harlequin Cover Plate die, together with the Lovely Leaves stamps and dies we previewed yesterday.  I simply cut out the harlequin background from some black cardstock and fixed it to the front of my 4.25x5.5" card base.  I then stamped one of the sentiments from the Lovely Leaves stamp set in Versamark ink onto a strip of black card, heat embossed it in white and fixed it across the bottom of the card front.  I stamped some of the leaves and berries from the Lovely Leaves stamp set in different Memento inks, cut them out using the coordinating SugarCuts - Lovely Leaves die set, and glued them to the card front.  A few sparkling clear sequins, and it was done!

For my second card, I began by cutting out my card front using the largest die from the SugarCuts - Zig Zag Stitched Rectangles die set.  I inked the background using some distress ink and then flicked it with water.  I stamped my "pumpkin spice latte" using Caffeine Addict and cut out all the elements using the coordinating SugarCuts - Coffee To Go Cup die set (FYI the coffee sleeve was stamped onto one of the papers from this month's new Countryside Charm paper pad!).

The darling fox and pumpkin images are from today's new stamp set - Fall Fox - and I coloured then with Copics and then cut them out using the coordinating SugarCuts - Fall Fox die set. I addewd a sentiment from the Fall Fox stamp set and some black Ranger Enamel Accents, and it was done!

All new products will be available for purchase from this Friday, August 26th at 6PM EST in the SPD Store.

If you'd like to WIN the Fall Fox stamp set, all you need to do is hop on over to the SugarPea Designs blog and answer the daily question.  You have all week to comment, and winners during our August Product Release will be announced on Sunday, August 28th.

SugarPea Designs August 2016 Release: Day 2

Hi everyone and welcome to Day 2 of the SugarPea Designs August Release!

Today we are sneak peeking Lovely Leaves stamp set along with it's coordinating SugarCuts - Lovely Leaves die set.

Supplies
Memento ink: Rich Cocoa, Potter's Clay, Pistachio, Rhubarb Stalk, Teal Zeal
Bazzill cardstock: Coconut Swirl, Nougat

For my card, I cut out a stitched journal card using my SugarCuts - Birthday Journal Card die set (previously released in June), then set to work stamping the leaves, berries and acorns from the Lovely Leaves stamp set in various Memento inks.  I stamped one of the sentiments in Versamark ink onto some brown card and heat embossed it with some white embossing powder.  The scalloped rectangle was also cut using my SugarCuts - Birthday Journal Card die set.  (At the moment, I have left the stitched journal card die and the scalloped rectangle die from this die set wired together, as this enables me to cut out a scalloped rectangular frame and inset the smaller stitched journal card into it).

SugarPea Designs August 2016 Release: Day 1

Hi everyone and welcome to the first day of the SugarPea Designs August 2016 release sweet peeks!

We have some fantastic country/farm themed stamps and dies to share with you today, including the brand new Countryside Charm paper pad and Farmscape scene die, both designed by ... ME!

For my first card, I simply glued one of the sheets from my Countryside Charm paper pad onto the front of a 4.25x5.5" card base (no trimming required, as the paper is the exact size!). I then stamped some of the images from the Barn to be Wild and Best of Cluck stamp sets, coloured them with my Copic markers, cut them out with the coordinating die sets, and then popped them onto the card front.  Finally, a sentiment from the Barn to be Wild stamp set, and it was done!

For my second card, I created a scene using my new FarmScape scene die. First, I cut 2 strips of red gingham paper from the Countryside Charm paper collection and fixed them along the right and left edges of my card base. I die cut the FarmScape scene 3 times from green cardstock, and then cut some of the elements in red, white and black cardstock, laying them on top of the corresponding areas. The sentiment is from the new Barn to be Wild stamp set, and my clouds were cut using the previously release Whatever the Weather die set.   Finally, I popped up my white panel using SugarPuff foam.

All new products will be available for purchase from this Friday, August 26th at 6PM EST in the SPD Store.

If you'd like to WIN the Barn to be Wild stamp set, all you need to do is leave a comment on the SugarPea Designs blog telling us what your favorite fresh from the farm food or animal is!
