SPD January Release Day Blog Hop!

Hi everyone and welcome to the final day of the SugarPea Designs January 2016 Release!

Today we are sneak peeking the darling Egg-a-licious stamp set, the coordinating SugarCuts: Egg-a-licious die, and the January Sweet Incentive stamp set - Funky Wreath Spring Addition.

For today's card, I used the gorgeous Funky Wreath Spring Addition stamp set.  I simply stamped the flowers and leaves using various Memento inks in the bottom left corner of a 148x95mm piece of Bazzill Coconut Swirl cardstock.  I wrapped some Bazzill Heidi cardstock with some Doodlebug twine and added it to the bottom of a 148x105mm card base, then adhered the stamped panel along the top edge.  Finally, I used the previously released SugarCuts - Thanks die for my sentiment.

 
The Funky Wreath Spring Addition stamp set is this release's Sweet Incentive, which means you will receive it FREE with orders of $60 or more (before shipping and after discounts).  It won't be available for sale in the store until our next bi-monthly release in March, so that means you will receive this set a full 2 months in advance of its release for FREE

SPD January Release Day 4: Key to my Heart

Hi everyone and welcome to Day 3 of the SugarPea Designs January 2016 release sweet peeks!

Today we are sneak peeking the awesome new Key to my Heart stamp set plus the coordinating SugarCuts - Key to my Heart die set.

For my card, I started by stamping the 3 patterned hearts from the Key to my Heart stamp set in Memento Angel Pink ink onto a piece of Bazzill Coconut Swirl cardstock.  I added some die-cut stitching along the bottom edge of the panel and a pink die-cut border to the reverse.  I fixed this along the top edge of my card base, which had been covered in black & white striped paper.  I then cut out one of the keys from the SugarCuts - Key to my Heart die set (together with 2 small hearts using the Notched Heart Journal Card die set) from gold glitter paper, and adhered them to the card front.  I then stamped the 3 separate sentiment stamps from the Key to my Heart stamp set using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  A few sparkling clear sequins and a twine bow, and it was done!

SugarPea Designs January Release Day 1: Caffeine Addict

Happy Monday everyone!  I apologise for neglecting my blog for the past couple of months, but as most of you know, our daughter has been in hospital and had to undergo 2 emergency operations, both under general anaesthetic.  After lots of complications, she is now home.  We still have a far way to go, and even if her healing goes perfectly, she won't be back at school for at least another 3 or 4 weeks, but it is such a relief not to be in the hospital anymore.

Today is the first day of the SugarPea Designs January 2016 release sweet peeks!!

For my card, I used elements from both stamp sets and both die sets.  I started off by making the background for my card using the largest die from the previously released SugarCuts - Zig Zag Stitched Rectangles die set. I stamped the 2 different sized coffee rings from the Caffeine Addict 4x8" stamp set in Memento Rich Cocoa ink, but used the second-generation stamping technique to achieve a stained effect.  I then cut out the coffee-to-go cup elements using the SugarCuts - Coffee To Go Cup die set, stamped the "caffeine addict" and the "straw" from the Caffeine Addict 4x8" stamp set in Memento Cottage Ivy ink, assembled it and fixed it over the coffee stains. I cut out the smallest coffee bean and the "latte" sentiment using the SugarCuts - Coffee Words die set from brown card (even though it looks black here, haha!) and added them.  Finally, a couple of sentiment and bean stamps from the Espresso Yourself 4x4" stamp set and it was done!
