Hi everyone and welome to The Alley Way Stamps April 2015 release BLOG HOP!

The TAWS DT have been sharing some fantastic creations made with the fabulous April release stamps over the last 3 days, and today we are celebrating their release with a GRAND BLOG HOP!

The full release will be available to buy from The Alley Way Stamps later tonight!! Woo-hoo!

For my hop card, I used several stamps from the fantastic *NEW* Blast Off mini stamp set to create my outer space card:

Supplies
The Alley Way Stamps: Blast Off mini stamp set
Copic Markers
Planet: R59 R37 R35 R32, YR07 YR04 Y15
Spaceship: W9 W7 W5 W2 W1 W0, R59 R37 R35 R32
Fire: R59 R37 YR04 R15
Window: W3 W1 W0 B32 B00 B000

Bazzill cardstock: Coconut Swirl, Moody Blue
Distress Inks: Chipped Sapphire, Festive Berries, Salty Ocean, Pumice Stone
Memento Inks: Tuxedo Black, London Fog
Memento Luxe Ink: Wedding Dress

Versamark ink
WOW! Embossing Powder: Metallic Platinum Super Fine (WC06SF)

To create my space background, I inked a 105x148mm piece of Bazzill Coconut Swirl cardstock with Tim Holtz Distress ink Chipped Sapphire, Festive Berries and Salty Ocean, together with a little Memento Tuxedo Black and Memento Luxe Wedding Dress ink using my mini blending tool.  For the large moon, I die-cut an 83mm diameter circle from the same card and inked it using Pumice Stone distress ink and Memento London Fog ink.  I trimmed it to fit the card front and then added some water drips for texture.   I stamped the smallest open star stamp from the *NEW* Blast Off stamp set several times in Versamark ink and heat embossed them in platinum EP, before adding lots of tiny dots of white gel pen.  I stamped and coloured the spaceship and the planet from Blast Off, then added them to my card front using foam pads for dimension. Finally, I heat embossed the "Blast Off" sentiment from the same stamp set in platinum onto a strip of Moody Blue cardstock, and added it to the card front.

This fabulous 3x4" mini stamp set, Far Out, is FREE when you spend $40.00 or more (after shipping) at The Alley Way Stamps store during the month of April 2015.  This is the perfect accompaniment to the darling new Feeling Groovy stamp set!

For my card, I just *had* to ink up this darling camper van!  I love that this stamp set comes with loads of little accessory stamps!  The steering wheel is a separate stamp, so that you can stamp it whichever side you like.  I also love that the licence plate has been left blank, and that the stamp set comes with 14 different licence plates you can stamp into that space! (I used the "hang10" licence plate stamp for my van).  The stamp set also comes with a solid peace sign stamp that perfectly fits in the badge space at the front of the van.  I decided to heat emboss the sign in silver EP, but as I didn't take my photo at an angle, the shine is a bit difficult to see - sorry! :)

I followed the fab sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch #116 for my layout:

If you hop on over to today's sneak peek post on the The Alley Way Stamps blog, you will be able to see the rest of the team's awesome Feeling Groovy sneak peek cards, plus there is an opportunity to WIN this fantastic stamp set! Be quick, as the contest is running for today only and will close at 7pm mountain time tonight (that's 1am tomorrow morning for my UK friends!).

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Hi everyone! I have a card to share today that uses not one, not 2, but 6 different The Alley Way Stamps stamp sets, hehe!  I'm not going to explain how I made the card, as I think that's pretty self-explanatory!  The buffalo image is from the adorable Buff stamp set - this set is FREE this month with order of $40 and over (before shipping).  The cute chicks are from this month's new Hard Boiled stamp set, and I added some party hats from the previously released Stumped and a teeny, tiny cake from the previously released Oogles stamp set.  The square balloons are from Cake Day, and the "birthday" sentiment is from this month's new Yappy stamp set. Phew! A lot of different sets, but I love how they work so well together!

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
- Seize the Birthday: Sentiment as Focal Point
- Papertake Weekly: Happy ... Anything
- Melonheadz challenge: Animals
- Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge: Animals

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

TAWS: Hen Party

SuppliesThe Alley Way Stamps: Hard Boiled stamp set
The Alley Way Stamps: Bubbly stamp set
The Alley Way Stamps: Alphabet Soup stamp set
Doodlebug 6x6 paper pad: Kraft in Color - Color (DB4205)
Doodlebug Kraft in Color sequins: Bubblegum
Memento ink: Tuxedo Black, Rose Bud
Whimsy Stamps Stitched Border Trio die set
Black fineliner
White netted ribbon
Graph'it Markers

Hi everyone! In the UK we call our bachelorette parties "hen parties", so for today's card I made a hen party invitation card! I used a couple of cute chicks from Hard Boiled, together with the large "party" word stamp from Bubbly.  At hen parties, the bride-to-be usually wears a costume bridal veil and a driver's learner plate (L-plate), so I added both to the "bridal" hen, hehe!  The word "hen" and the "L" of the L-plate were stamped using Alphabet Soup. A fairly quick card to make! The only time consuming bit was gluing the piece of netted ribbon to represent a bridal veil - it didn't want to stick, lol!

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

- Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge: Animals
- Addicted to Stamps #136: Anything Goes

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope you have a great rest of the week!

TAWS: Roaming over to say HI!

Supplies
The Alley Way Stamps: Buff stamp set
TIm Holtz Distress Ink Pad: Spiced Marmalade
Memento Ink: Tuxedo Black
Copic Markers: W9 W7 W5 W3 W1 E43 E42 E41 E40
Bazzill cardstock: Coconut Swirl, Flintstone
Stampin' Up cardstock: Bermuda Bay
Doodlebug Sprinkles: Tangerine
MFT Die-namics: LLD Little Letters

Hi everyone! Today I have a TAWS card to share using the darling Buff stamp set.  This stamp set is FREE during the month of March with orders of $40 or more (before shipping).

Teal, orange and grey is a favourite colour combination of mine, so when I saw that these were the colours over at The Challenge #26, I just had to play along! I also followed the fab sketch for this challenge too!

I used Spiced Marmalade distress ink to ink my white circle die-cut.  I tried to graduate the inking from dark to light, and I love how it's given a sort of sunset look to the inking without using a second colour ink!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

SPD March Release Day Blog Hop: Home Sweet Home

Hi everyone and welcome to our final day of the SugarPea Designs March Release!

Today, we are sneak peeking the darling new Sweet Sentiments - Home stamp set. together with the last of the dies I designed for this release - Home Sweet Home.

Supplies
SugarPea Designs: Home Sweet Home die
SugarPea Designs: Homescape die
SugarPea Designs: Sweet Sentiments - Home stamp set
Stampin' up cardstock: Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay
Bazzill cardstock: Grapefruit Bliss
Memento ink: Tuxedo Black
Mama Elephant Creative Cuts: So Fancy die set

I cut two HOME words from black and pink card, snipped the letters off the pink one so I just had the house remaining, and then glued it on top of the black die-cut.  The die-cut is quite delicate, so to ensure I glued it down straight, I taped my ruler to my card front using washi tape and then butted the HOME die-cut up against it!  I then stamped the darling "where our story begins" from the new Sweet Sentiments - Home 3x4" stamp set in black ink (love that sentiment!).  Then I set to work die-cutting 4 houses using the Home Sweet Home die and the Homescape die (all I did was snip off the bits I didn't want).  I decided I wanted the houses to have coordinating doors, so again, I used the 2 dies to cut out the doors and then snipped away the excess. Once the houses were glued down, I used the Home Sweet Home die again to cut 3 tiny hearts from pink card and glued them onto the card so they looked like they were floating out of the chimney of the large green house.

SPD March Release Day 4: Going Places & America the Beautiful

Hi everyone and welcome to Day 4 of the SugarPea Designs March Release!  I hope you are enjoying the new products and sneak peeks!

Today, we are sneak peeking an adorable new Going Places stamp set. together with the third of 4 dies I designed for this release - America the Beautiful.

For my first card, I used the die as the focal point and added a sentiment from the stamp set:

Supplies
SugarPea Designs: America the Beautiful die
SugarPea Designs: Going Places stamp set
SugarPea Designs: Heart Journal Card die set
Bazzill cardstock: Cherry Splash, Coconut Swirl, Blackberry Swirl
Lawn Fawn 6x6 paper pack: Beachside (navy stars)
Echo Park 6x6 paper pad: Dots & Stripes Homefront (red striped)

When I was designing the America the Beautiful die, I really wanted it to be able to cut out an outline of each of the states of the US rather than just an outline of the US as a whole, so that you can paper piece the states individually!  As I'm British and don't have an affliation to any particular US state, I decided to paper piece all the states so that they resembled the American flag for this card, but I think that this die would look fabulous if you paper pieced all the states in one colour and then your own state in another colour to stand out!  The die fits a 3x4" journalling card perfectly, so if you were documenting a trip to several states, you could highlight those by cutting them out in different colours and paper piecing them back into the outline die, but leave the rest of the states blank!  I want to go on holiday to the US now so I can do this, lol!

It was a little fiddly and time consuming to paper piece the individual states (mostly because of lining up the striped paper!), but with the help of my Quickstik tool, it only took about 5-10 minutes.  I die-cut the image from black card first, and discarded all of the internal states so I had just the black outline.  I then glued this to my card front.  I took some red & white striped paper and ran this through my Cuttlebug using the die.  I left the paper pieces in the die cut and then set about gluing them into their corresponding holes one by one by adding glue to each hole and using my Quickstik tool to pick up each die-cut state from the die.  I then did the same using some navy star patterned paper.

The sentiment is from the adorable Going Places stamp set, and my 3 hearts were die-cut using the previously released Heart Journal Card die set.

For my second card, I used the America the Beautiful die as an outline, plus 2 images and 2 sentiments from Going Places. The black and white striped strip on the left hand side of the card was stamped using the Sweet Incentive stamp set for Jan/Feb - Build-a-background.  This stamp set will be available to purchase from the SPD store on Friday! The slightly larger heart (pinpointing Dallas, Texas!) was die cut using the smallest heart from the Heart Journal Card die set, and the teeny tiny red heart adorning the heat embossed sentiment strip was cut using a die we will be showcasing on Friday.
