Breaking Bad...

It was my hubby's birthday recently and this is the card I made him! If you haven't heard or watched the TV series "Breaking Bad", this card will mean nothing to you, but if you have, then you'll get what I was trying to achieve here! *grin* We were only introduced to this TV series a few months ago, but we were able to watch the entire 5 seasons back-to-back on Netflix - yay!  Hubby is a science teacher, but I hasten to add that he is nothing like Walter White, lol!

I stamped the periodic table "genuis" stamp and the conical flask stamp from the School Spirit stamp set in Versamark ink and heat embossed in white. I made Heisenberg's hat by simply cutting out some black card and popping it up on foam pads for dimension. The sunglasses were made using the glasses die from the Glasses & Bracket die set. I die-cut the glasses frame from black card 5 times and glued the layers together. I then die-cut the lenses from dark grey card. I gave the lenses and frames a good coating of glossy accents, and when they were dry, I assembled them and fixed them to the card!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Hope you have a great weekend!

Dream, Explore, Discover

I was asked to be a guest designer for CAS(E) this Sketch! challenge #91 a couple of weeks ago, but completely forgot to post the card I made for it - silly me, lol!  So here it is:

Obviously the challenge ended a while ago now, but here is the sketch that I followed.  As you can see, I turned it 90 degrees to the left:

The grid stamp is from the Distressed backgrounds & ink splats stamp set.  The car and road stamps are from the Travel 1 - Life is a Journey stamp set and the car was cut out using the car die from the
Road Trip die set. Finally, the street sign stamp is from the Travel 2 - Happy Travels stamp set.  A few drops of Rangers Black Enamel Accents and it was done!

Thank so much for stopping by today!

Hugs,

CAS(E) this Sketch #93

Supplies
SugarPea Designs Teacher's Pet stamp set
Whimsy Stamps Mini Chalkboard Frame die
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Copic Markers
Versamark ink
WOW Bright White Embossing Powder (WL01SF)
Doodlebug Kraft in Color 12x12 paper: Lily White Dot/Grid (DB4174)
Cardstock: Bazzill Date Swirl, SU Bermuda Bay

I thought I'd play along with CAS(E) this Sketch #93 challenge this week.  I was intrigued by the tilted frame and wanted to have a go!  I used my Whimsy Stamps Mini Chalkboard Frame die for the frame - can you see the wood embossing detail? So cute!  I spent around 20 minutes messing around with sequins and enamel dots, but I couldn't find a colour combination I liked, so I decided to leave them off completely.

I used the very cute crayon box image and matching sentiment stamp from my SugarPea Designs Teacher's Pet stamp set.  This set is one of my favourites from latest SPD release as it has loads of cute accessory stamps.  I plan to make a little set of lunchbox notes using these stamps next week using a new die that I ordered (which hasn't arrived yet).

Thanks so much for sharing part of your day with me!  I hope you have a great weekend!

Whimsy Stamps September rubber & die release day hop!

Hi everyone and welcome to the...
Whimsy Stamps September release BLOG HOP!

If you've been visiting the Whimsy blog and the Whimsy DT and GDT over the past couple of days, you would have seen some amazing creations made with this month's new stamps and dies.  Today we are celebrating their release with a GRAND BLOG HOP!

The hop starts today (Wednesday September 17th at 12.00PM noon ET) and ends on Friday September 19th at 12.00pm noon ET.

If you would like to hop along with us today, please CLICK HERE to start the hop at Debbie's blog.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, I was unable to finish my hop card for today, so instead I am going to share the products that I designed for this month's release.

Christmas Chalkboards 1 is the third chalkboard set I've designed for Whimsy.  This 4x6" rubber stamp set includes 4 individual stamps which I hope you will love as much as I loved designing them:

The next 4x6" rubber stamp set I designed is called Christmas Mini Tag Sentiments and includes 24 little holiday sentiments.  I wanted to design a set with lots of little sentiments that can be stamped in the corner of your image panel or onto a small tag to hang from bows:

Speaking of tags, the first die set I designed for this release is the Stitched Tags die set.  It is a nesting set of dies and includes 4 tags of different shapes.  The largest tag (approx. 2.25x3.75") has a stitched border and was designed to fit the Christmas Chalkboards 1 stamps.  The smallest rectangular tag also has a stitched border and is the perfect size for the Christmas Mini Tag Sentiments.  The small oval tag also fits many of the Mini Tag sentiments.  You will find that the stamps in all 3 of the chalkboard stamp sets I have designed for Whimsy will fit into one of the tags in this die set:

I have wanted to design a Holly Vine die for a long time!  It took me absolutely ages to draw, lol, but I am really pleased with the end result.  The detail on the leaves actually cuts through rather than embosses, and the small berries would look very cute with pearls or gems attached.  The die is approximately 4.75" in length and could easily be cut down to different sizes:

Finally, I designed a contemporary stamp set that you can build scenes with - Winter Wonderland.  It includes 4 different sentiments, 2 birch tree silhouettes (5.5" high), 4 snowflakes, a star, a small bird to perch on the branches of the trees, and a stag:

And to coordinate with this stamp set is the Winter Stag die. This die is approximately 2x2.5":

All the new release goodies are available to buy RIGHT NOW from the Whimsy Stamps store and from selected Whimsy Stamps retailers!  I would love to know if you have a favourite!

One lucky hopper will win a $25 gift certificate! To enter the draw, simply leave a comment at EVERY stop along the hop by 12.00pm noon on Friday September 19th.

Here is a complete blog hop list in hopping order:

Thanks so much for visiting today. Happy hopping!

SugarPea Designs September Release Day & Sweet Sneak: Let's Fiesta

Hi SugarPea fans and welcome to our September Release Day! Today we are showing you the last of the 5 SPD stamp sets released this week and available to buy from the store RIGHT NOW!! Introducing ... Let's Fiesta stamp set:

Supplies
SPD Let's Fiesta stamp set
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Copic markers (list to follow)
Bazzill cardstock: Lava
Echo Park 6x6 paper: Paradise Beach

I loved colouring this character! I paper pieced his poncho (not sure if that's the right name for it?), and I can see now that I totally forgot to add shading to it - urgh! Never mind, lol!  The set comes with some awesome accessory stamps (which I'm planning to use on their own in the future) and some fabulous sentiments, including the "Hola" that I have stamped in the bottom right corner of the image panel.

Would you like to WIN the Let's Fiesta stamp set?! Hop along and visit with the SugarPeas and guests, leaving some comment love along the way! One lucky person will be randomly selected to win the Let's Fiesta stamp set!

SugarPea Designs September Sweet Sneak: Bountiful Blessings

Hi SugarPea fans and welcome to the penultimate day of our September Sweet Sneaks! Today we are showing you the fantastic Bountiful Blessings stamp set:

Supplies
SPD Bountiful Blessings stamp set
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Copic Markers
Distress inks: Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmarlade, Peeled Paint
Bazzill cardstock: Kraft, Blueberry Pie
MFT Die-namics: Sun, Moon & Stars; Cloud Cover-Up

I really wanted this cutey to be stood in front of a field of corn, but as I don't have a corn die, I improvised with a leaf punch.  I inked up some scrap card with Peeled Paint and Mustard Seed distress ink and then punched out 9 leaves for the top of the corn stalks.  I then punched a further 9 leaves from scrap card inked with Peeled Paint distress ink for the bottom of the stalks, then simply glued them all together!  I know the leaves aren't the right shape for proper corn leaves, but I think it turned out okay! :)

Would you like to WIN the Bountiful Blessings stamp set?! Hop along and visit with the SugarPeas and guests, leaving some comment love along the way! One lucky person will be randomly selected to win the Bountiful Blessings stamp set!

Our fabulous September release will be available in the SugarPea Designs Online Shoppe at 6:00 AM EST TOMORROW!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Hope to see you again tomorrow for our release day hop!

SPD Sniffles & Snuggles stamp set

As you can probably tell, I paper pieced the wallpaper, lampshade and bottom part of the bedspread.  This is one of my most favourite techniques, and this stamp is just perfect for it!   I really love this image as it reminds me of our daughter.  She always has tonnes of soft toys in her bed with her, whether she's sick or not, lol!
