SugarPea Designs: SPDSS08 Sugar Sketch Challenge

We have a brand new SugarSketch challenge starting today over at SugarPea Designs and here is my card:

SugarPea Designs are sponsoring this week's Cute Card Thursday challenge #331, so I wanted to play along with that one too.  The challenge is "For the Birds", and so I used my fave penguin from the Rice Rice Baby stamp set from the Bean Stalk Collection:

SugarPea Designs: SPD07 Challenge - You're So Punny

Happy Friday everyone!

Today I have a SugarPea Designs card to share for our current monthly SPD07 Challenge - You're So Punny.

I used the Spare Me stamp set from the Bean Stalk Collection for my card:

The Spare Me stamp set includes lots of images, shapes and sentiment stamps, so for my card I decided to do something a little different and used the 2 largest diamond shapes to stamp an argyle pattern down the left side of my white panel.  The sentiment is actually one long sentiment, so all I did was very carefully ink up the parts I wanted to use when stamping (I know some people are happy to cut their sentiments apart, but that's not something I could ever do!).  Finally I stamped the largest pin stamp in black, coloured the neck stripe purple, cut it out and popped it up on a foam pad!

I was totally inspired by the CAS(E) this Sketch #86 and followed the yummy colour combination from this week's ColorQ #251.

CAS on Sunday Challenge #38: With Sympathy

Hi everyone! Today is an exciting day for me as I am guest designing over at the CAS on Sunday challenge blog - yay! I was very fortunate to win challenge #36 and the prize was a GDT spot for challenge #38! Huge thanks to Janneke and all the girls over at CAS on Sunday for having me!

The theme for challenge #38 is a sympathy card and we are being sponsored by Cas-ual Friday Stamps.

For my card I used the chicken wire stamp and the ink swipe stamp from my Clearly Whimsy Stamps Distressed Backgrounds & Ink Splats stamp set. The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps Life's Moments rubber stamp set and the butterfly was trimmed from the Whimsy Stamps Butterfly Border die:

SugarPea Designs July Sweet Sneak: Spare Me

I wanted to create a bit of movement to the scene by making it look like he had already thrown the ball and it was travelling down the alley towards the pins, so after inking the stamp and before I actually stamped it onto my white card, I carefully wiped away the ink from the ball in his hand! This fabulous set comes with SO many great sentiments and accessory stamps, including the separate ball stamp I used and loads of pins! My little set of 4 pins is actually just one stamp stamped 4 times - I didn't even have to mask them as I carefully lined them up when stamping so that the bottom outline of the back pin lined up with the bottom of the red stripe of the front pin!
