Muse Challenge #69: Hello

Hi everyone! I hope you're having a great week so far. Today I have a card to share that I made this morning for this week's Muse Challenge #69. Yes, I am now addicted to this new-to-me challenge, hehe! The muse this week is Cornelia, and here is her stunning card:

As you can see, my card is pretty much an exact CASE of Cornelia's card.  I decided to use the 2 different size chevron stamps from my Clearly Whimsy Stamps Happy Hello stamp set to create the  background, as I was too chicken to try the fab paint technique that Cornelia used, lol!  I substituted the large "happy" for a large "hello" die cut and used a couple of sentiment stamps from the Happy Hello stamp set to tie it together.  I must get myself something to make splatters with, as I love the effect on Cornelia's card ... plus it would be a lot cheaper than the Doodlebug sprinkles I used! At £3.99 for a packet of 54, that makes them just shy of 8p each!!! Eeeek!!  A silly price for a tiny self-adhesive, shiny "sticker", so I must find something that's more cost effective, lol!

I'd also like to enter this into this week's Simon Says Wednesday Challenge which is Anything Goes.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Sweet & Fruity

As soon as I saw this week's ColourQ CQC#242 colour palette, I knew I had to join in! Gorgeous,  fresh summery colours - perfect for chasing away the awful, wet and dreary weather we're experiencing at the moment in the South West of England.

This card came together very quickly! I inked up the citrus slice, cherries and strawberry stamps from my Clearly Whimsy Stamps Feeling Fruity stamp set, added a few Doodlbug sequins and finished it off by adding the Sweet word cut using my Whimsy Stamps Sweet As Candy Large Word die.  A simple, but hopefully "sweet", card!

For my layout I followed this week's CAS(E) Sketch #77 by the amazing Gayatri Murali:

I would also like to enter this card into this week's Less is More challenge 173, which is "include a die cut".

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you have a lovely weekend.

Muse Challenge #68 - Zooming by ...

Hi everyone and happy Friday! Today I have a card to share that I made for this week's Muse Challenge #68.  I have never played in a Muse Challenge before, but as soon as I saw the muse card by Marion Vagg, I instantly knew what I wanted to create!  Here is Marion's beautiful card:

The way Marion laid down the 2 grey chevron die-cuts immediately reminded me of my road stamp, and the rest of the card flowed from there! I have used the same colous as Marion (pink, green, grey, black & white) and also followed her layout (although I have added a little more stamping to the sentiment). I substituted the gorgeous pink flower for a stamped and die-cut pink car, and the 3 green leaves on Marion's card are represented by 3 green sequins on mine! I extended the stamping of the sentiment on my card as I wanted to use two sentiments - "zooming by" and "HI".  As the "HI" was far too big to stamp by the side of the other sentiment,  I did a bit of stamping with some generic shapes to tie it altogether.

I had a LOT of fun creating this card and I am excited to have found a new-to-me challenge - yay!  Thank you, Marion, for your fab, inspirational card!

I would also like to enter this card into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge, which is Vacation/Travel

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Wish Big

Hi Whimsy fans and welcome to Day 2 of our ...
May rubber stamp and die release!

We are releasing a fabulous selection of new goodies this week, and the entire release will be available to buy from the Whimsy Stamps store and from all good Whimsy Stamps retailers from tomorrow (21st May).

PRIZE ALERT ... We have hidden FOUR prizes of 2 new release rubber stamps somewhere on the DT’s blogs throughout our 5-day release event this week. As the location of the prizes are secret, be sure to leave a comment on ALL the stops on each daily blog hop to maximize your chance of winning! We will draw the lucky winners over the weekend and announce them on the Whimsy blog next week.

For today's card, I used the *new* Star Background stamp, the *new* Boy Talk sentiment stamp set, and the *new* Pierced Stacking Star die. (The chevron stamp and the individual star stamps are from the Clearly Whimsy Stamps Happy Hello stamp set which was released last month).

I followed the fabulous CQC#241 colour challenge over at ColourQ, which is chocolate chip, gold, pool party, tempting turquoise and white.  I wanted the "Wish Big" sentiment and the stamped chevron border to be glittery gold, but I don't actually have any gold glitter EP, lol!  Luckily I do have a gold versacolor ink pad and some clear glitter EP, and so I used that.  I think it worked okay! :)

You should have hopped here from the amazingly talented Jacque.  If not, and you would like to hop with us today, head on over to Danielle's blog.  Here's full list in hopping order:
