Hi everyone and welcome to the Whimsy Stamps January 2014 rubber stamp and die release BLOG HOP!

Our brand new January release of 30 image stamps, 8 sentiment sets, 9 shapeology dies, and 1 designer paper pack is now available to buy from the Whimsy Stamps store!

To celebrate our new release, the DT are holding a blog hop today to share creations made with our new release goodies and I am part of today's hop!

We are hiding FOUR prizes of 2 new release rubber stamps on the DT’s blogs throughout the 5-day release event. You have until the end of the release week (Saturday January 25th at 12.00PM EST) to leave comments on ALL the daily DT blog posts. We will draw the lucky winners over the weekend and announce them here on the Whimsy blog on Monday (January 27th).

I used the brand *NEW* Celtic Knot Shamrock die and the *NEW* Lucky Charms sentiment set for today's cards.

For my first card, I inlaid the white die-cut shamrock into the green card.  It's a little difficult to see, but if you zoom in you should be able to see the effect a little better:

I also decorated the inside of the card by cutting apart the green die-cut shamrock which was 'waste' from the front of the card:

For my second card I used a die-cut as a mask for inking.  I cut out the shamrock, positioned it onto white card, inked over the top with green ink, then discarded the die-cut.  I simply stamped the sentiment over the top, and voila:

A close-up of the inking:

For my final card, I stamped the luck definition sentiment from the Lucky Charms sentiment set several times in the right corner of the white card base in black ink.  I then used the shamrock die to cut out the shape in the bottom right corner of piece of blue card and adhered it onto the card base so the cut out was positioned over the stamped area.  I then cut out a second shamrock in black cardstock, but snipped away the inside so all I was left with an outline, then placed it in the shamrock "hole".  I added the 'waste' blue shamrock inside the card for decoration (no picture, sorry!).

Be sure to stop by the Whimsy blog for the full reveal of this month's release!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

We are hiding FOUR prizes of 2 new release rubber stamps on the DT’s blogs throughout the 5-day release event. I have a couple of cards to share with you today.  I have totally gone down the CAS route and have just used ink, card and 3 BRAND NEW products from the new release...... that I designed!! Eek! How exciting!

First up is a very simple card to showcase the *NEW* Heart Border die.  The "I love you" sentiment is from the *NEW* All You Need Is Love sentiment set.   I designed the border die so you can also cut it apart and use some of the hearts individually.   It measures approx. 15 x 3.5cm (6 x 1 3/8"):

For the next card I used the *NEW* Bird Cage die set, which comprises: a bird cage die, 2 bird dies and a fancy flourish die (to attach to the bottom of the cage).  I designed it so that the "waste" scroll part of the cage can actually be used as a hanging chain (as I have done for my card!).

The "You Make My Heart Sing" sentiment is from the *NEW* All You Need is Love sentiment set, as are the 3 different heart stamps.  I stamped them in a random pattern using red and black ink, and then coloured in a couple with my white opaque pen for a bit of contrast.

Hope you like my designs! :)

Don’t forget to stop by again tomorrow for our release day blog hop and a full reveal of all of this month's new goodies!

Finally, I'd like to enter CAS on a Sunday #25 challenge - Lovey Dovey.

Thanks so much for visiting us today. Happy hopping!

I have a secret ...

... it's something I've been working on for a far few months now. I can't tell you how hard it has been not to tell anyone! I've been itching to say something ... and now I can!!

I am SO pleased (and a little nervous) to announce that I have joined the Whimsy Stamps team of artists as a word art and die designer!! I am going to continue as a full-time DT member and DT Coordinator, so I will still be colouring and making Whimsy cards and sharing them here on my blog (sorry I've neglected it lately!).

I have designed FOUR 6x4" red rubber cling-backed sentiment sets and FIVE die/die sets for the Whimsy Stamps January 2014 release. With Denise's permission, I have been sharing sneak peeks of these deisngs over on my brand new Facebook page - SC Designs. I would be honoured if you would come on over and tell me what you think of them!

https://www.facebook.com/semseecraftsdesign

I'm also holding a GIVEAWAY on my new FB page. I have one sentiment set and one die set to give away to the likers of my new page. Anyone and everyone can enter!

I have already submitted my designs for the next release and I can't wait to show you them, plus there is an addition which I am SO excited about, but of course I have keep it a secret just now!

Anyway, please hop on over to my FB page and enter my giveaway. I plan to keep the page very active and would love it to be a place where I can interact with Whimsy customers and fans, and find out exactly what type of designs you would like to see in the future. I will be holding contests and keeping you up-to-date on all the news, and hopefully sharing some of your creations made with the stamps I've designed (that would be such an honour!).

Thanks so much for stopping by!
