Whimsy Stamps January Release - Final Showcase Day

Hello and welcome to the Final Day of Whimsy Stamps January Rubber & Die Release Showcase!

Last Wednesday (23 January) Whimsy Stamps released this month's new rubber designs, Shapeology dies, Whimsy Designer Paper pack, Shape EZ template and *new* Whimsy Prints pre-coloured toppers. From then until today the Whimsy Stamps DT and Special Monthly Guest, Gail Lass, are showcasing these fabulous new goodies with a daily mini blog hop, and I am part of today's hop!

This is another card that I have made for someone very special. She is a wonderful, wonderful friend, and I know that if we lived in the same city/country, we would spend a LOT of time together! I don't want to say too much as I know she stops by my blog, and I want it to be a surprise when she eventually receives this! :)

So for this card I inked up the *new* Kenny K Happy Hour rubber stamp and coloured her in Copics (yes, colouring around the white spots on her dress was a challenge, lol). The sentiment is from the *new* Whimsy Stamps Simple Everyday Greetings stamp set (I can't tell you how much I love this set and I just know that it will become my most used everyday stamp set!).

For my card I inked up Bella Sole Collecting Daisies, one of the new Little Cottage Cuties Collection illustrated by Elisabeth Bell for Whimsy Stamps. I made this to thank a special lady who loves pink (if she reads this post, she will know it's for her, even though she told me she didn't want anything *wink*!). I also used one of the stamps from the *new* Everyday Sliders 1 sentiment set together with its matching*new* Slider 1 die (which is open-faced for perfect alignment first time - yay!).

SCRSC96B - Love Song Challenge

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Today I have my Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps Challenge 96 card to share. You have until Sunday 27 January 2013 @ 9 PM PST to play along with our challenge which is a Love Song Challenge:

As soon as I saw this challenge, I knew immediately which love song I would pick! I have  tonnes of favourite love songs (I could spend all day listing them!), but this one is special. It holds the most meaning and the biggest place in my heart. It's the very first song that my hubby sang to me ... down the telephone line ... thousands of miles apart ... him in NZ and me in the UK ... and it has been "our" song ever since ...

I was going to use Cheerleading Emily for my card because of the lyric: "I'll be the greatest fan of your life". But as I wanted the card to be more romantic and 'whole-song' inspired, I chose Mr. & Mrs. instead. I followed Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 176 for my layout:

I used my 'new' Basic Grey Plumeria pad for this card. And talking about Basic Grey, have you seen their newest lines? I can't wait to get my hands on Lucille and Mint Julep. Mint Julep was revealed at Winter CHA 2013 so unfortunately it won't be shipping until April ... arghhh, such a long time to wait, lol!

Sparkle Creations.January Release Day - Sushi Rin

Hi everyone and welcome to Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps JANUARY RELEASE DAY!

All new stamps are now available to buy from the SCRS store! We are also previewing Sushi Rin today who comes with three fab sentiments.

I followed Sketch #30 from Seems a Little Sketchy, although I did use it in its mirror-image and also substituted the bottom 3 gems for a twine bow:

Unfortunately I'm a little disappointed with this card. I'm really happy with my coloring, but on reflection, I think I should have switched out the red paper for something else.  The vast expanse of red isn't quite working. The paper I used needed more of a pattern (it does have writing on it, but it's hard to tell in the photo). Oh well! You win some, you lose some, lol!  I will use this stamp for one our future challenges and see if I can do a better job, as I love the stamp!!!
