Myself, Iris, Lori, Mariska & Tammy Louise from the Whimsy Stamps DT were given the privileged task of making samples with these stamps for publication in the magazine.  And now the main Sylvia Zet image stamps from that set are available in lovely deeply-etched Whimsy Stamps red rubber! Yippee!!

Sparkle Creations August Previews - Cowboy Josh

Hi everyone and welcome to the first day of the Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps August Previews! Today we are excited to show you Cowboy Josh who comes with a darling sentiment that reads "HOWDY". All new stamps will be available to buy on Saturday 11th August 2012, which is TOMORROW!! Yay!

I paired Cowboy Josh with papers from my brand new October Afternoon Sasparilla pad and one of my MFT Country Charm die-namics dies (all bought especially for this release, hehe!). When I was making this card I actually remembered the sewing machine (yay!) and so I added a little sewing around the edge. I'm definitely getting faster at changing the bobbin and threading the cotton now, and even managed to do it without referring to the manual - woo-hoo!!  Hopefully I'll start to become more confident soon and will increase the speed a little - at the moment it's on the tortoise setting (no lie - my machine has a sliding speed scale from tortoise to hare, and no, it's not a child's machine, lol!).

Stamp: SCRS Cowboy Josh
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black; Tim Holtz Antique Linen
Copics: Skin E000 E00 E11 R20; Hair E49 E47 E44;
Hat, Chaps & Waistcoat E44 E43 E42 R24;

Paper: October Afternoon 'Sasparilla' 8x8 pad
Card: Bazzill Bitter Chocolate; Bazzill Kraft
Dies: MFT Die-namics Country Charms; MFT Die-namics By the Letters; MFT Die-namics Notebook Edge
Embellishments: Natural Twine
Tools: Sewing Machine; Edge Distresser; Cuttlebug

Be sure to visit our fabulous SCRS designers for more peeks of Cowboy Josh. Sparkle will be giving away a Cowboy Josh rubber stamp to one lucky person! For a chance to WIN, you need to visit and comment on all of the designers' Cowboy Josh blog posts (listed below) and leave a comment on the SCRS blog post. You have until midnight EST tonight to comment.

I hope you all have a great Friday! We'll be back tomorrow for release day!

SCRSC85B: Charlotte with a Rose

Hi everyone!

Today I have my Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps Challenge #85 card to share with you.  Sorry it's a few hours late!  Hubby is a high school teacher so he and our daughter are home for the entire Summer hols and I'm finding it almost impossible to steal a few hours for crafting, lol!

Our current challenge is a Sketch challenge and so we would like to see a new card or creation made following Kim's fabby sketch. You have until Sunday 12 August @ 9 PM PST (which is Monday 13 August at 5 AM UK time) to play along.

For my challenge card I chose to ink up my beloved Charlotte with a Rose stamp. I paper pieced her outfit (my fave technique!) and paired her with some scrummy (and unused until now!) paper from MME. I really wish I'd added some black stitching to the paper panels, as I think it would have been the perfect finishing touch. My sewing machine has to live packed away in a different cupboard from my crafty stash, and as it's a fairly new addition to the household, I seem to always forget about it! I think I will stick a note to the outside of my crafting cupboard saying "don't forget the sewing machine", lol!

Be sure to stop by the SCRS blog to take a peek at what the rest of challenge team B have made:

YOU ARE HERE ---> Simonne Clay <--- YOU ARE HERE

The SCRS DT will be back on Friday with the 1st of our August release previews, so I would love to invite you to pop back then (there are prizes!).

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Kenny K Spy Chick for Whimsy Stamps Magazine

Hi everyone!

Today I have a card to share that was published in the latest FREE online Whimsy Inspirations Magazine (Issue 9) and will also be published in the extended print version of the magazine later this month.  The full colour print version of this magazine will start shipping between 10-15 August 2012.  If you would like to pre-order your copy, please click here to be taken to the relevant page at the Whimsy Stamps store.

For my card I used a older Whimsy Stamps Kenny K rubber stamp called Spy Chick.  I used Copics to colour her, then fussy-cut her out and popped her up on foam pads on a little road scene I created.  I used some Echo Park checkered paper to represent a starting flag, and some of my all-time favourite May Arts striped twill ribbon (available from www.sewsweet.co.uk) to represent tyre marks. Finally, some metal brads and staples and it was finished! A rather simple card in terms of layout and embellies, but the colouring took a LONG time and so I wanted to make that the focus of the card.

Stamp: Whimsy Stamps Kenny K Spy Chick
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Copic Markers: Skin E11 E02 E00 E000 R20; Eyes B05 B02; Hair E55 E53 E51; Reds R59 R29 R27 R24 R22;

Greys 100 C7 C5 C3 C1; Headlight Y02; Colorless Blender
Paper: Echo Park 12x12 Ladybug Small Dot (DSHF6005); Echo Park 12x12 Checkerboard (HD19010)
Card: Bazzill 12x12 Raven
Embellishments: May Arts 3/4” Striped Twill Ribbon; Silver Brads; Staples

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Whimsy Stamps Elisabeth Bell L'il Sweet Tweeter

Hi everyone!  First I would like to apologise profusely - I was supposed to post this card yesterday, but due to computer problems (argh!) I couldn't. Better late than never I hope? :)

Anywho ... last Wednesday (25 July), Whimsy Stamps released this month's new rubber designs, new Shapeology dies, new Shape EZ by TLC templates and new MRD digital papers. On Monday I shared a card I made using L'il Bells and today I have used the super-cute L'il Sweet Tweeter illustrated by Elisabeth Bell:

Stamp: Whimsy Stamps L'il Sweet Tweeter rubber stamp
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black; Versamagic Wheat dew drop
Markers: Copic markers
Paper: Basic Grey Porcelain 6x6 pad
Card: Bazzill Kraft; Core'dinations Colorcore
Dies: MFT Die-namics Contempo Cage; Whimsy Stamps Vines die set
Embellishments: Ribbons, pearls, WOC flowers
Tools: Sewing machine, Die-cutting machine, white thread

I have been hoarding this birdcage-print paper from my very old Basic Grey Porcelain pad for years now, waiting for the perfect stamp, lol!, so the paper dictated my colour choices for this card! :) I didn't have a perfect colour match of ribbon, so I laid some ivory organza over the top of some pink silk ribbon.  It looks lovely, but boy was it difficult to tie a bow with two ribbons!  The leaves were die-cut from my Whimsy Stamps Vines die set.  I really love how versatile this set is!  I often snip off the leaves (as I did here) and use them individually rather than part of the swirly die.

If you have joined the Whimsy Stamps team this week and hopped along in our daily mini hops, you may have won a new release stamp! So don't forget to pop along to the Whimsy blog later today to see if you're one of our lucky randomly-drawn winners! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today and for any comments you may have - I truly appreciate each and every one! :)
