Happy 3rd Birthday Sketch Saturday - Candy Alert!

Today is a VERY special day for Sketch Saturday as it's our 3rd BIRTHDAY!!! WOO-HOO!!

To celebrate, we have some wonderful prizes to give away, but as we want to say thank you to all our wonderful SS challengers for supporting us and making Sketch Saturday such a success, you can only enter our prize draws if you enter this week's Sketch Saturday Challenge #157. And here is the sketch:

The Craft Barn is sponsoring the main prize for this week's challenge and one lucky winner will win an amazing £50 Craft Barn gift voucher! WOW!

The Craft Barn is holding their June Extravaganza weekend on Saturday 4th & Sunday 5th of June.  There will be FREE craft demos from 24 demonstrators, with a theme of 'The Best of British' featuring designers and demonstrators from the UK and wherever possible promoting products manufactured in the UK.  Further details about their June Extravaganza can be found here: http://www.thecraftbarn.co.uk/section.php/570/1/extravaganza-june-2011

In addition, some of the DT are hosting their own blog candy draws on their own blogs, so make sure you visit all the DT's blogs this week once you've made your challenge creation to enter our draws!

~~ PLEASE NOTE You are only allowed to enter our individual DT blog candy draws if you have taken part in this week's Sketch Saturday Challenge #157 ~~

As I mentioned before, many of the fabulous Sketch Saturday DT members are offering Party Bag Candy (PBCs) draws on their personal blogs (including me!) to say thank you to YOU, our lovely Sketch Saturday challengers!

My Party Bag Candy prize is the bag I have made above filled with a few goodies, plus a FANTASTIC Whimsy Stamps Everyday Mini Postage Stamps rubber stamp set, kindly sponsored by Denise at Whimsy Stamps (huge thank you, Denise, *mwah*!).

If you would like to be included in the draw to win my bag and this awesome stamp set, please:

1. Make a new creation following SS Sketch #157 and enter it into the SS 157 challenge over at the SS blog.

2. Come back here and enter my blog candy draw by adding (a) the URL of your own blog post showing your Sketch Saturday #157 make, (b) your name, (c) your email address, into InLinkz below.

3. Leave me a comment (please!). This is optional, but also just in case InLinkz has a wobbly!

(NB One entry per person please. To make it fair, all entries that have not followed the above rules will be removed from the draw.)

My PBC draw ends at 08:00 (UK time) on Friday 3rd June 2011. I will draw a winner using random.org later that day.  All winners will be announced on the Sketch Saturday blog at 07:50 (UK time) on Saturday 4th June just before our new challenge goes live (I shall also announce the winner of my PBC on my blog at the same time).

Finally, I'd just like to pop a little note of thanks here to Jo, our tireless SS leader.  Jo, your commitment, support, appreciation and all-round awesomeness is SO appreciated by us all. THANK YOU for being you!  You are Sketch Saturday, and we think you're AMAZING!

SCRSC44: 365 Cards Challenge

Happy Tuesday everyone! Welcome to a brand new Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps challenge! As Sparkle is sponsoring 365 Cards Challenge all week, we thought it would be a great idea to use their challenge for today which is HATS!  So we would like to see a hat featured somewhere on your challenge entry, and as lots of SCRS characters wear headgear of some sort, I'm sure this will be a fairly easy challenge!

For my card I used 4 DIFFERENT CHLOE stamps (from left to right):

Don't forget that all Chloe stamps are on special at 15% off until 27th May!

I also decided to follow the 365 Cards Challenge sketch from Sunday (rotating it 90 degrees to the left).

I created the sentiment on the computer (although I can't take credit as the author of the phrase, LOL!). It's a very clean and simple card, but I have to say I'm really pleased with how it turned out!  As soon as I saw the sketch I knew exactly what I wanted to do - love it when that happens!! :o)

Sparkle Creations challenge is open to all players. Each week a random winner will be chosen, and they will receive a SCRS rubber stamp. [In order to qualify for a prize, you must use a Sparkle Creations image on your creation.]

Do pop along to the rest of the SCRS DT's blogs to take a peek at their awesome challenge creations:

Thanks for dropping by! Hope you have a great Tuesday!

Hi everyone!

Today I would like to share my Sketch Saturday #156 make with you. We are being sponsored by Bunny Zoe Crafts this week and here is the fabby sketch for you to follow:

I used one of the beautiful stamps from the Whimsy Stamps Fragrant Rose stamp set for my card.  You can buy this stamp set (which comes already mounted on cling) for $12.00 straight from the Whimsy Store HERE or if you are in the UK/Europe you can buy it from Elaine at Quixotic Paperie HERE.

I paired it with some gorgeous Crate Paper 'Portrait' 6x6 paper (available to buy HERE from Quixotic Paperie).  I absolutely adore this paper pad, and I think I need to get another purely so that I can squirrel it away for the future, LOL!

Whimsy Stamps Sneak Peek Day 5 - DT's Choice

**This is my 2nd post of the day. Please scroll down to see my Sparkle Creations Challenge post.**

Hello again!

Ooh, are you getting excited?  Only one more sleep until the Whimsy Stamps May rubber and die release  - WOO-HOO!!

For the past 4 days the Whimsy DT have been posting sneak peeks of some of the fabby new stamps and dies, and today we are sharing sneak peeks of whatever we want as it's 'DT's choice sneak peek day'!

I originally wanted to sneak peek today's creation on Friday when it was 'Sentiments & Dies' sneak peek day, but I have been not-so-patiently having to wait for some white embossing powder to arrive in the mail.  I ordered it on Tuesday from an online shop who always post the same or next day 1st class.  Well, they kept to their usual posting schedule ... but stupid Royal Mail have taken until yesterday to deliver it! Booooo!! RM have increased their cost of postage by 12-13% this year, but it seems their service has declined by way more than that (well, in our area of the UK at least!). Anyway, moan over!  LOL!

For today's sneak peek I have used the Celebration Pennants stamp set by Raindrop Echo Designs and created a set of four 96x96mm birthday cards.  [This stamp set actually coordinates perfectly with the Banner Pennants Die Set released in March.] As soon as I saw the DT sneak of this stamp set way back in April I knew instantly what I wanted to do with it. I don't know about you, but the ideas I create in my head don't always work in real life, but I am really pleased that they did this time! :o)

[Lots of pics as I found it difficult to photograph them all together front on!]

To create these cards I used:

- 96x96mm white card bases
- Woodware corner rounder
- Cardstock and designer paper
- Versamark and WOW Opaque bright white super fine embossing powder
- Foam tape
- Various Versamagic Dew Drop Chalk ink pads
- Coordinating 4mm flat back pearls

I'm still trying to decide whether to make a presentation box for these and give them away (or perhaps pop them on Etsy), or keep them as a stash of birthday cards for men or those people who appreciate a less cutesy style card!

Be sure to stop by my Whimsy DT sistahs' blogs for more 'final day sneak peeks' of the soon-to-be-released rubber stamps and dies:

Hope you have a great Tuesday and hope to see you tomorrow for our new release hop at 12 noon EST (5pm UK time)!

Hugs,

SCRSC43: April Flowers bring May Flowers

Happy Tuesday everyone! Welcome to a brand new Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps challenge! This week we have a theme for you to follow - April Flowers bring May Flowers - so we would like to see you add flowers to your project.

Sparkle is sponsoring this week's Stamp Something challenge's 3 year anniversary blog hop with Turntable Josh and Scooter Chloe!  SCRS is also sponsoring today's brand new Midnight Madness sketch #104, and as I am a sucker for a good sketch, I decided to follow today's fabulous MMSC104 for my SCRSC43 card:

I used Celebrating Chloe for today's card and paired her with some yummy Echo Park 6x6 Springtime.  paper.  [Full supply list is at the end of this post.]

Chloe is our featured character for the month of May, and all Chloe stamps are currently 15% off until May 27th! How fab is that? :o)  And if you haven't signed up for our newsletter yet, you'll find the sign up box in the sidebar of the SCRS blog!

Sparkle Creations challenge is open to all players. Each week a random winner will be chosen, and they will receive a SCRS rubber stamp. [In order to qualify for a prize, you must use a Sparkle Creations image on your creation.]
