Sunday Sketch & Stamp 7: Happy Birthday SIS!

Click to enlarge image Happy Sunday, everyone!

I'd like to show you my DT card for Sunday Sketch and Stamp. Today marks the beginning of challenge 7, which is a great sketch by my fellow SS&S DT member, Ger.

Remember that the challenges over at Sunday Sketch & Stamp run for 2 weeks, so there's plenty of time to get your entries in! If you enter this fortnight's challenge, you could win a brand new Wild Rose Studio stamp entitled "Best Friends" - which is the image I've used for my card!

It's my little sister's birthday today (well, she's not little anymore, but she is 4 years younger than me!), and so I made this card for her. I thought the stamp fitted perfectly - it's supposed to be me on the left (dark blonde and 3" taller) and my sister on the right (used to be white blonde when she was very young):

I've glittered up 'our' shoes, necklaces and the 3 starbursts using my Sakura Glitter Clear Gel pen.... although you can't see it particularly well!I'm going to enter this card into this week's Creative Inspirations challenge 17, which is "Stitching" (real or faux).

Thanks for looking and for any comments you may have - I LOVE reading them!

Just Magnolia #13 again! ... my second entry

Hey everyone!

This is going to be a very quick post, as I have to leave the house in 5 mins for the school run!

I made this card at the same time as my second entry for this week's Just Magnolia challenge, but couldn't upload it before now as I've only been able to access the net on our dinosaur of a laptop, which is fine for surfing but just locks up totally when trying to upload or download!

Unfortunately, I can't enter this into Cute Card Thursday "Thank You Miss" challenge, as it's too late now!! (This card is another thank you card for my daughter to give her cookery club teacher - thought the image was really apt! - no name, as dd's not sure whether her teacher is really a Mrs or Miss - they all call her Miss, but then kids call most female teachers Miss whether they're married or not!).

I'll hop on at a later date and pop in the 'ingredients' for this card, but for now that's it!

Would love to know what you think!

Must fly!

Hugs, Sem xx

I thought "Tilda with Pencils" would be perfect for this card - I coloured her skin/face with Copic Ciaos and the rest of her with my Whispers:

Inky Impressions Challenge #5: Lili meets PaperPlay

Click to enlarge image Morning all!

Today I'd like to share with you my card for this week's Inky Impressions Challenge (week #5). The challenge this week is follow the Split Coast Stampers Challenges sketch 235, which was a great one to use!

I wanted to use some paper that had a fairly small pattern, and if possible, something with circles, and this piece of paper from my new W R Memory Keepers Tiffany 6x6 pad was perfect!

Click to enlarge image I think I really ought to invest in a few circle punches, as I had to cut out and then emboss the 9 circles, and then cut out the 9 scalloped circles with my nesties & cuttlebug!! It took an absolute age to cut out 18 circles and emboss 9 of them, one at a time!!!! That's 27 runs through the Cuttlebug!!! I decided to make the circles in two different sizes for contrast, and then popped the larger ones up with 3D foam pads.

I used the Inky Impressions stamp called 'Lili's Prayer' - she is SO great to colour and definitely my fave of the moment!! I used a mixture of Copics and Whispers to colour her (I can't figure out how to colour hair yet with my Copics!!):

Click to enlarge imageI wanted to replicate in some way the pattern on the paper, so I made my circles black with a white scalloped edge, then handmade the flowers using green and pink card. I don't have very many flower punches, and so I couldn't copy the flowers exactly, but I really like how they turned out! I was going to put punched-out butterflies on the smaller circles, but they just didn't look as right as the small white flowers.

I'm going to enter this card into this week's PaperPlay challenge (week 24), which is to use handmade flower(s) on your project.

Well, that's it from me for today. Hope you like my card? And if you have any Inky Impressions stamps, then why don't you hop on over to the challenge blog and join in?

Thanks, as always, for dropping by and for any comments you have. I love reading them - they really brighten my day!

Sunday Sketch & Stamp 6: HAPPY BIRTHDAY CLARE!

This is my DT card for today's Sunday Sketch & Stamp's Challenge #6, which is a fabulous sketch by the super-talented Barb.

Today is also a very special day for my Sunday Sketch & Stamp DT sistah, Clare, as it's her birthday!!! When I found out that Clare's birthday was on the very day of our 6th challenge, I emailed the rest of the DT (in secret!) to let them know and to suggest that maybe we could make our DT cards actual birthday cards for Clare!!! So I hope you were surprised Clare!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY hun
wishing you a fan-tab-u-lous day!!

So onto the card (which should be safely in Clare's inky hands by now!). Crafts 4 Eternity are our sponsors for this challenge and have kindly donated 4 digi stamps for the challenge prize. The DT were lucky enough to be given all 4 digi stamps to play with for this challenge, and the one I chose was in 'landscape' rather than 'portrait' so I rotated Barb's fantastic sketch 90 degrees to the left and then used it in its mirror-image:

The digi image I chose is called 'Gotch Ya!' and was originally a 'Mister' Frog before I got my hands on it! LOL! I erased the collar and tie, and then once I'd printed and coloured the image, I hand-drew some lips and eyelashes.... and voila....'Mrs Frog' was born:

A bit of glitter on her lips and the wings of that 'tasty' fly and she was done!

We'd love you to play along with us at Sunday Sketch & Stamp, so why don't you 'hop' on over now (...hee hee, sorry, couldn't resist!!) and check out the rest of the DT's creations.

Hope you all have a FAB week!

Hugs, Sem xx

Inky Impressions: Clean & Simple Lili...

Click to enlarge image Happy Independence Day to all my American friends!

Today I'd like to share with you a card I have made which is completely out of my comfort zone! Something I have never attempted before.... clean and simple! I have made it for the Split Coast Stampers 'Clean & Simple' CAS21 challenge. It sure was an awful lot quicker to make than my usual creations! LOL! The longest and hardest part was trying to figure out how to emboss the base cardstock (with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug Embossing folder) without having to resort to embossing another piece of card and sticking it to the front!

My intention was to make it even simpler without the pearls and the bottom piece of blue card, but I think they add that finishing touch!

Click to enlarge imageI used my Inky Impressions Lili's Prayer stamp, and used my Sakura Glitter Gelly Pen to highlight and glitter-up her earrings, eyeshadow, bracelet, belt and buckle on her hairband.

Well, that's about it from me for today, folks!!

Thanks so much for dropping by my tiny corner of the www, and for taking the time to comment! I love reading them, and they really make my day!

Hugs, Sem xx
