London 2012: Going for Gold

Hi everyone!

Today I have a card to share with you that I made for my brother. Some of my regular readers will know that my brother, Larry Godfrey, is competing in his 3rd consecutive Olympics at London 2012 as one third of the TEAM GB Men's Recurve Archery Team. So exciting!! *insert proud older sister moment here*

So of course I wanted to make a card to wish him luck, and here it is ....

(supplies and instructions are at the end of the post)

Good luck lil bro!! We're all rooting for you and will be cheering you on, whether it be from the stands at Lord's Cricket Ground or from our living rooms. And whatever the outcome, we couldn't be MORE proud!! Love you a million, billion, trillion! xx

Thanks for stopping by today!

Hugs,

Sparkle Creations 2nd Anniversary BLOG HOP!

Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps

 2nd Anniversary Hop!
Photobucket

Hi everyone!  As you may have guessed from the title of my post, we are celebrating 2 fabulous years of Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps today with a BLOG HOP!  So if you've happened here by chance, please hop back to the SCRS blog to start hopping.

I cannot believe how quickly these last 2 years have flown by! Two fabulous years of Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps ... two fabulous years of being on the SCRS DT! I can still remember the utter joy I felt when Sparkle told me about her new stamp company, and how honoured and excited I was when she asked me to be on her very first design team ... and yep, I'm still here, lol!  THANK YOU Sparks - I adore SCRS, I adore my teamies and I adore you!!  I feel so humbled and grateful to know and work with you and the galsl! Thank you! xx

So not only are we here to help Sparkle celebrate 2 years of SCRS, but we are also officially releasing 4 new SCRS images this month -- Birthday Cake Emily, Festive Rin, Party Time Oliver, and Your Highness Lucy. They are ALL available to buy in the SCRS store NOW along with all your SCRS favorites!

Not only are the current DT hopping today, we are also being joined by DT Alumni and Guest Designers! Yeh baby! WOO-HOO!!! An all-star line up!

Did someone mention PRIZES? Hmmmm!  Well, we can't have a hop without prizes can we? I hope you'll be excited to hear that we've hidden TEN single stamp prizes along the way and one lucky winner will win the ENTIRE July release! That is going to be one lucky someone! All you need to do is leave some love at every stop along the hop (...we will be checking, lol!). You have until 11:59 PM EST on Sunday July 15th to leave comments for a chance to win! Winners will be announced on the SCRS blog on Monday.

Before I show you my hop card, I just want to do a little shout out to the super-talented and all-round awesome person who illustrates these fabby stamps - Aki Fukuoka.  Aki is such an amazing artist, and I LOVE working with the images she draws for Sparkle.

For my hop card I used Your Highness Lucy and paired her with some Echo Park Be Mine papers. I love glitter and bling, but must confess that I find it hard to use glitter on cards. It's not because I don't like it but because I can't change it once it's down (I fiddle and faff with pearls and flowers and ribbons for a long time before I finally glue them down!)  But Lucy deserves lots of glitter and bling don't you think?  (she is a 'highness' after all!) so I went to town ... well ... for me anyway, lol!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Happy hopping and don't forget to leave me a comment before you go to be entered into our prize draws! ;) Now off you hop to Stephanie's blog...

Hugs,

SCRSC83: Cruisin' Chloe

Hi everyone!

Today I have my Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps Challenge #83 card to share with you.

Our current challenge is a Throwback Challenge and we would like to see a new card or creation made with one of the stamps released within our first year. You have until Sunday 15 July @ 9 PM PST (which is Monday 16 July at 5 AM UK time) to play along.

At the end of June we said a fond farewell to Amber, Kerri, Margie, and Savannah. I shall miss each of these wonderful and talented gals very much!  It was a pleasure to work with you all! xx

It's always hard to say goodbye, but we do have new people to welcome to the SCRS team!  This month we have Piali returning to our team and we also have Joni who will be joining us until the end of December.  We also have Yvonne joining us in August, and Danielle will be joining our Senior Design Team!  And last but by no means least, we welcome Leanne Poe as our July Guest Designer.

For my challenge card I chose to use the darling Cruisin' Chloe (how I covet her 'bug', lol!) and the SCRS colours! Since Sparkle is sponsoring Feeling Sketchy for the month of July, I also followed their first sketch of the month for my layout.  You can see the original sketch here on their challenge blog.

Be sure to stop by the SCRS blog to take a peek at what the rest of challenge team B have made:

We'll be back tomorrow with our 2nd of four July release previews, so I would love to invite you to pop back then (there's prizes!).

SCRS July Previews: Birthday Cake Emily

Hi everyone!

This month is very exciting for everyone at Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps as we are celebrating our 2 year anniversary! Over the next few days we will be previewing 4 brand new SCRS stamps and today we are excited to show you Birthday Cake Emily who comes with 2 darling sentiments. All new stamps will be available to buy on Saturday 14th July 2012 when we will be holding a special blog hop to celebrate our anniversary!

For my card I wanted to go bright and zingy so I used some old Cosmo Cricket DeLovely 6x6 paper and then followed the MFTWSC78 sketch (from a few weeks ago).  Sorry the photo is not the best. I use my old Windows Image Composer software (so old you haven't been able to buy it for years!) and the free Windows Live Photo Gallery software to edit my photos. I don't have the best digi camera either. Unfortunately, Image Composer has now become corrupt, and no matter what I do I can't make it work any longer, so this photo is a bit pants!  I think most of you will know how the colours are supposed to look re the papers (the yellow is more "yellow" rather than gold) and the pink is a bit warmer.  I added Stickles to the hem of Emily's dress, the flower in her hair, the icing on the cake and the MFT Die-namics Hibiscus flower. I also added some liquid pearls around Emily. It actually looks really pretty IRL and it's a shame the photo doesn't show that!  The fabulous "Happy Birthday" die cut is from the Whimsy Stamps Birthday Sentimentables die set.

Be sure to visit the rest of the fabulous SCRS designers for more peeks of Birthday Cake Emily. Sparkle will be giving away a Birthday Cake Emily rubber stamp to one lucky person! For a chance to WIN, you need to visit and comment on all of the designers' Birthday Cake Emily blog posts (listed below) and leave a comment on the SCRS blog post. You have until midnight EST tonight to comment.
