The Greeting Farm May Previews: Prince Ian

Hi everyone and welcome to the last day of The Greeting Farm MAY PREVIEWS.

As you've heard all week, we are super excited to add ONE NEW PREMIERE FARMER this month! Please join us in welcoming RACHEL PARYS to the TGF Design Team... we are thrilled to have her and her beautiful cardmaking skills on board!

Second, we've made some changes to TGF Challenges and are very grateful to have received such positive feedback so far as we've turned them over to our Showcase DT.   Please make sure you visit the TGF Blog (and check out it's cute new makeover while you're there!) and tune into the Left-hand sidebar for all of our current challenges in ONE place!

Today we are previewing PRINCE IAN!

Supplies
 Crown shapes - freehand (own!)
Random papers from stash
Glitter, gems, Viva Decor Copper glitter pen
Sentiment composed and printed in MS Word

I folded a piece of 148mm square white card in half and then drew a rough crown shape.  I folded this in half and cut it out (to ensure the shape was symmetrical).  I then unfolded it and covered the crown shape with gold patterned paper then trimmed off the excess.  I then freehand drew the blue crown shape onto blue patterned paper, again folded it in half, then cut it out to ensure it was symmetrical. I glued it on to the gold base and then trimmed off the excess.  I did the same with the white "fur" trim, but added glitter for texture as I don't have anything like fun flock or that stuff that foams up when heated!  I then found an old Prima gem to pop on the top of the crown and tried to replicate its pattern by adding tiny dots of copper Viva Decor pen around the gems adorning the blue crown.  I love the Viva Decor pens as to do this with sticky gems would be a nightmare!  A couple of lines of coppery dots, Prince Ian and a sentiment, and it was complete!

I cannot apologise enough for only having one card to show you today. :(  I don't know if you remember, but I was super, super ill around this time 2 months ago, and that illness made me miss the TGF March release blog hop and also kept me bed-bound for almost 3 weeks! (I haven't been ill like that in years and had everything imaginable!).  Well, our darling daughter has been off school all week with a sore throat, cough and fever, and guess what? ... yep, I now have it but a million times worst!!  I visited my GP on Friday, who told me that because of the severity of my illness last time and that I've only had a matter of weeks as being "well", my immune system and chest haven't recovered fully and to expect it to be much worse!  So I woke yesterday morning after hardly any sleep and suffice to say, he was right!  A trip to the out-of-hours Saturday doc confirmed that I have very severe strepp throat, a crackle when I'm exhaling (so have to use an inhaler again which makes me gag!), an ear infection and an awful cough. Groundhog Day?  I am back on antibiotics, high dose painkillers, and various other more herbal-type aids (if I don't sip warm honey, lemon and water drink constantly I can't stop coughing which rips my throat to shreds!)  I am so frustrated and angry right now. I can't believe that I am this ill AGAIN in a matter of a few months, and that it's right at TGF release time too!! Are the Gods conspiring against me? lol!

So I managed to finish this Prince Ian card, but I haven't got the energy to sit and make another. I'm SO sorry!!!  I am determined NOT to miss the May Release hop tomorrow, so I will have something, even if it's not up to my 'usual' standards.

Sorry to ramble on and 'moan' but I wanted to convey how utterly sorry I am! :(

Onto happier things! Would you like to WIN your very own PRINCE IAN rubber stamp? We're giving away a stamp during each day of previews, so be sure to visit the TGF BLOG for all the info about how to enter the draw!

Last but not least, please join us for our RELEASE DAY BLOG HOP full of prizes and fun TOMORROW, when all NEW STAMPS will be available to buy from the Farm!

Thanks for dropping by!
Hope you're all keeping well.

Big hugs,

SCRS April Final Preview & Release Day - Ballerina Ruby

Hello everyone and welcome to Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps April RELEASE DAY!

All new stamps are now available to buy from the SCRS store! We are also previewing the darling Ballerina Ruby stamp today who comes with a "tutu cute!" sentiment:

For my card I followed the FLT186 sketch at Clean & Simple Stamping and used a couple of sheets of the gorgeous Bo Bunny Ambrosia 6x6 paper pad (available from My Mum's Craft Shop HERE).  I added a sentiment in the panel at the bottom of the main paper sheet, distressed the edges with my paper distresser and then added some faux stitching with my SU paper piercer.  Some punched and die cut butterflies, Viva Decor Pearl Pen and Viva Decor Glitter Pen and it was finished! :) Oh, and I also added some fine glitter to Ruby's tutu and hair-piece.

Be sure to visit our fabulous SCRS designers for more peeks of Ballerina Ruby. Sparkle will be giving away a Ballerina Ruby rubber stamp to one lucky person! For a chance to WIN, you need to visit and comment on all of the designers' Ballerina Ruby blog posts (listed below). You have until midnight EST tonight to comment.

SCRS April Previews - Karber set

Hi everyone and welcome to our second day of Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps April release previews!

So sorry that my post is late!  I am in the UK and so schedule my SCRS posts for 5am my time. I checked this post was set to 'schedule' before turning in for the evening last night, and of course stupid Mr Blogger has turned it into 'draft'. I've only just come online (9.17am my time) for the first time this morning and found that this post didn't post! Grrrr!! I'd love to know why that happens!

Anyway, rant over, lol! Today some of the DT are showcasing the darling new Karber stamp set. This is a clear acrylic set with 4 images and 3 sentiment stamps. All new stamps will be available to purchase from the SCRS store tomorrow!

I followed this week's Mojo Monday sketch #236. I pulled out my Fancy Pants Beach Babe 6x6 paper pad from last summer and paired it with some Coredinations Colorcore card (love that you can sand it and make it look weathered!). The "Happy Summer" sentiment stamped in pink at the top of the card is part of this new stamp set.  I finished it off with some Polka Dot Satin Ribbon, a magenta button from the 50g Summer mixed Button bag and some Natural Kraft Button Twine all from www.sewsweet.co.uk of course! :)

Be sure to visit our fabulous designers for more peeks of this cute Karber stamp set. Sparkle will be giving away a Karber stamp set to one lucky person! For a chance to WIN, you need to visit and comment on all of the designers' Karber blog posts (links listed below) and then pop back to the SCRS blog and leave a comment there. You have until midnight EST tonight to comment.

I hope you all have a great Friday! We will see you tomorrow for the final day of previews!

SCRS April Previews - Baseball Oliver

Hello everyone and welcome to the first day of our Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps April previews!

Today we are excited to show you Baseball Oliver who comes with the sentiment "play ball". All new release stamps will be available to buy on Saturday 14th April 2012 from the SCRS store!

For my card, I used one of my fave MME paper pads 'Lime Twist - Fly A Kite' and followed Kim's fabby April sketch.  I also used my MFT Die-namics Stacking Stars die set on this card (love my Die-namics, lol!).

The eagle-eyed among you will see the boo-boo I've made! When I showed this card to my hubby, he said "it's great ... but he should have socks on not bare legs!" - Oops!! Apologies to all the baseball fans out there! You'll just have to imagine that Oliver is playing baseball with his friends at the local park rather than being kitted out in full uniform, lol! ;)

Be sure to visit our fabulous SCRS designers for more peeks of Baseball Oliver. Sparkle will be giving away a Baseball Oliver rubber stamp to one lucky person! For a chance to WIN, you need to visit and comment on all of the designers' Baseball Oliver blog posts (listed below) and then hop back to the SCRS blog and leave a comment there. You have until midnight EST tonight to comment.

I hope you all have a great Thursday! We'll be back tomorrow with a darling new Karber clear set preview!

Sew Sweet's 1st Birthday Bash - Day 2

Hi everyone and welcome to Day 2 of the...
Sew Sweet 1st Birthday celebrations!

To celebrate this wonderful occasion, the Sew Sweet DT and guests are posting projects and inspiration using Sew Sweet products all week on the Sew Sweet blog ... and today it's my turn!

As soon as Emma told us about the birthday celebrations I immediately knew that I just had to make a card using my My Favorite Things Die-namics Sew Nifty and Stamp Set.  I also wanted to join in with the current MFT Wednesday Stamp Club Sketch Challenge (MFTWSC65) and the sketch this week was perfect!!

I used some of the *new* Cotton Twill Measuring Tape ribbon (which was just perfect for this card!), some Pink Button Twine wrapped around the cotton reel, and a pink button from the 50g Baby Pink Mixed Button Bag and a cream button from the 50g Vintage Lace Mixed Button Bag.

As I said in my post on Sunday, I feel extremely blessed and honoured to be on the Sew Sweet Design Team. Emma stocks the most fabulous products (and at the most fabulous prices, too!) and I am beyond grateful that I get to help showcase them!

Emma - thank you sweetie, you are the best and I am proud and privileged to call you my friend! This card is dedicated to YOU! And here's to Sew Sweet continual growth and success! :)  HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Don't forget that if you place an order at the Sew Sweet store this week (2-6 April) you will win a fabulous prize that could be a fabulous £50.00 gift voucher! Woo-hoo!

And that's not all - every day this week (2-6 April) Emma is giving away a goodie bag worth £10.00 to a random Sew Sweet blog commenter! 5 days means 5 goodie bags and 5 chances to win! All you need to do is make sure you leave a comment on each Sew Sweet blog post each day this week, Monday to Friday!

Thank you for dropping by and I hope you have a fabulous Tuesday!
